is a playwright, director, and the ringmaster of the dqt’s flying circus, which she conceived and implemented in the 2017-18 season. Her other dqt credits include ghetto babylon at 59e59 theatres (associate producer), american woman (associate dramaturg), in the night everyone is equal (playwright), and ten: four monologues (playwright/ director). As a director, she specializes in solo shows and her work has been seen in festivals and venues across the city including the united solo festival and at dixon place. Ms. silberman was a finalist for the susan nims playwriting award at the last frontier theatre conference for her play ms. baxter’s good deed. She is published in best monologues from the last frontier theatre conference, playscripts, teachers and writers, and salon zine. Her plays have been produced or developed at the ensemble studio theatre, playwrights horizons, new world stages, new york theatre musical festival, the stonington opera house, metropolitan playhouse, six figures, new perspectives, and here. Ms. silberman also authored sixteen short plays for theatrainplays, the acclaimed twenty-four-hour theatre initiative. She co-founded, produced, and wrote for eating theatre, an alternative diner theatre experience. This summer, the griffin museum in boston exhibited one of her poems alongside her sister's photo as part of in your mother tongue, a word and image dialogue, for which they received high praise. Ms. silberman is a member of the dramatic question theatre, dramatists guild of america, the league of professional theatre women, and the former president of women in the arts & media. Ms. silberman is also the director of curriculum and engagement at girls write now, an award-winning writing and mentoring nonprofit for high school girls.
